The need for an ESG-adjusted investment calculation approach Passed
Thursday May 30, 2024 10:40 - 11:00 Conference hall
Speakers: Lisa Ek, Niklas Grönberg, Therese Tillander
The green transition underpins the need for new thinking in many areas, one of which is how we conduct financial modelling for decision making. The mining industry in general has always relied heavily on Net Present Value calculations as basis for evaluating feasibility of projects, and while ESG-factors are examined they are not made comparable to direct cost and revenues and are hence not included in financial models, even though they will have an absolute impact on the financial performance in the long-run.
Nordic Strategy Partners and one of their project partners AFRY, will presentation how to develop a new financial decision model for the mining industry, that incorporates ESG [environmental, social, governance] factors in a comparable unto financial parameters that are included in NPV-models
