Den Svenska Gruvan - How to move mountains by posters in the Stockholm subway Passed
Thursday May 30, 2024 11:55 - 12:15 Conference hall
Partner: Svemin AB
Speaker: Emma Härdmark
What do we mine in Sweden? What are all the metals and minerals used for? And why is it better to mine here than there? The level of knowledge about mines, metals and minerals among the general public is alarmingly poor. A low level of knowledge creates breeding grounds for skepticism. Unfortunately, this is also reflected among politicians and policy makers.
Therefore, in 2020, Svemin launched the awareness campaign Den Svenska Gruvan (The Swedish Mine), with the main purpose to overbridge the knowledge gap between the hole in the ground and the smartphones in the hands of the general public.
Now, after four years of spreading the word, how has the understanding and likeability changed?
Come and listen to Emma Härdmark, director of Communications at Svemin, about what we have learned along the way. And how we plan to move mountains in years to come.
Partners in Den Svenska Gruvan are Boliden, LKAB, Zinkgruvan Mining, ABB, Epiroc, Sandvik, Heidelberg Materials, Talga and Svemin.
