Patrick Hudd is a mining engineer from the UK who has worked internationally for mining and tunnelling contractors much of his over 30 year career. He has also spent a period working as a journalist for an international tunnelling magazine. His experience has allowed him to observe many different projects, at different phases and from different perspectives depending upon the role. This has lead him to note that wherever the project has been, the common factor for success has been communication leading to improved understanding and collaboration. A key part of this is respect and listening, with a willingness to embrace approaches that are suggested.
