Dr. Petri Vasara has a background both as a management and technical consultant and in AI research, where he has a doctorate. He is a Vice President in AFRY. First in Pöyry and then in AFRY after the joining of ÅF and Pöyry, Vasara has dealt with topics ranging from different industry sectors to new technologies, industry policy and geopolitics. AI has been a steadily growing toolkit, applied for 20+ years, and with the exponentially growing development in AI, many things in ideafiles can now be realised. Personal timeline and metals and mining meet: work in industry sectors includes metals and mining, new technologies is a core topic in metals, industry policy links to e.g. strategic autonomy in metals, geopolitics has mining and metals in a central role, and AI is everywhere. He has used AI as a help in hobbies from composing music to art for 15 years - and 10 000 resulting files attest to persistence, though not quality.
